Earlier this year the Cambridge City Council passed a residential zoning addendum that establishes a new base zoning height for residential neighborhoods of 45’, up from the prior 35’. This addendum is aimed to support housing supply in the 7 sq mi city. During our rough framing inspection, we caught that while the 2nd-floor shower wall was properly reinforced for the future shower glass installation, the 3rd-floor area was lacking the same extra support. The additional 2×4 between the existing studs gives the shower glass a more secure attachment than just the blueboard.
